Technology keeps on changing, becoming better version of it. The same goes with water purifiers. Water purifiers have become an integral part of our daily lives. It provides clean drinking water. There are several types of water purifier such as ‘Non electric water purifiers’ and ‘Electric water purifiers’. The thin line between them is because of technology. Both have their own traits when it comes to usage. The major difference between Electric and non Electric water purifier that is the purification method of these water cleaners.
Difference Between Electric and Non Electric Water Purifier
Non Electric Water Purifier
Non electric water purifiers do not require electricity to operate the process of purifying. These water purifiers work best only when the TDS levels in the water are low. TDS means, if the water is highly polluted compared to water supplies by corporation, and then the purifier in this case is less effective. Such purifiers are perfect in condition where there is shortage of electricity. The non-electric water purifiers subsume sediment filter, activated carbon filter, and ultra-fine filter membrane. Non-electric water cleansers mostly work on the viruses, bacteria and harmful pesticides. Non-electric water cleaner uses water pressure or gravity for pushing the waters to purify it. These are also known as gravity-based water purifiers. The sediment or waste settles downs at the bottom of the tank. It is not capable of removing the dissolved solids but improves taste and colour of water. However, gravity-based water purifiers cannot convert hard water into soft ones.
Electric Water Purifier
The electric purifier as the name suggests runs its operation on electricity, without the current it is of no use. Electric purifier has more complex techniques and system installed in it. The cleaner is loaded with reverse osmosis (RO) and ultraviolet (UV) systems. Electric water purifiers pass through the RO membrane and UV systems to cut out the microorganisms present in the water. RO increases the pressure of the water that proceeds through the RO membrane to expel the dissolved solids. This uses electricity to produce UV radiation. Later, it eliminates the pathogens and contaminants. Dissolved germs, harmful chemicals, viruses, and other suspended matters are removed by the electric water purifiers. Electric water purifiers convert hard water to soft water.
Electric Water Purifier or Non Electric Water Purifier Which is Suitable for you
You might be thinking why not buy electric water purifier as it is more effective. However it is not that way. Choosing the most suitable water purifier is important then choosing a best one. Everything depends on the quality of water being treated and the kind of purifier you require. If the water in your area looks dirty, housing lots of impurities along with high percentage of minerals, then without doubt electric water purifier is appropriate. Whereas if the water is better with less impurities and only problem is minerals in water then non-electric water purifier is an option for you.
Looks at Cost of Electric Or Non Electric Water Purifier
When it comes to budget then the price creates a major difference in both. The cost of the non-electrical water purifiers is much lower than the electrical one. Among the electrical ones, RO purifiers without the UV system have a considerable cost otherwise it is higher compared to non-electric ones. There can be a problem during installation. For non-electric purifier, the installation is not an issue, whereas for electric purifier, it requires clean and leak-proof vacant place in the kitchen. The installation process is bit complex.
